Lip Blush Boston: Soft, Natural Lip Tint

Lip Blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo treatment that enhances the natural color, shape, and symmetry of your lips. At Subbot Beauty Space in West Roxbury, Boston, we custom-match every shade to your skin tone and natural lip color for a soft, believable result.

The treatment adds subtle definition and a fresh tint, giving your lips a healthy, balanced look without daily lipstick.

You may also see it called lip blushing or a permanent lip tint. It is the same technique: pigment placed lightly in the surface of the lip to build color and shape, rather than the dense, outlined lip tattoo of twenty years ago.

How Long Does Lip Blush Last?

Results typically last 2 to 3 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. A touch-up session may be recommended to perfect the result. Lips hold pigment differently from brows, and what makes color fade faster is covered in how long does permanent makeup last.

Lip Blush Cost in Boston

Lip blush at Subbot Beauty Space is $600 for a session of 120 to 180 minutes. That covers your consultation, custom color matching, shape refinement, the procedure itself, and aftercare guidance. A perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks later is booked and paid for separately.

Preparing for Lip Blush and Healing

Lips need a little more preparation than brows. Keep them exfoliated and well moisturized in the week before, skip retinol and acids around the mouth for two weeks, and avoid alcohol and heavy caffeine for 24 hours before. If you have ever had a cold sore, the procedure can trigger an outbreak, so ask your doctor about antiviral medication before your appointment.

Healing is faster than on brows and more dramatic to watch. Color looks intense and the lips swell for the first day or two, then dry, tighten, and peel between days three and six. Around day seven the color looks far too light, and it comes back over the next two to three weeks as the tissue settles. The general aftercare rules are the same as for brows and are set out in our preparation, healing and aftercare guide.

The studio uses REACH-certified pigments and single-use, sterile needles. Consultations are free, and if the treatment is not right for you, we will say so. More about the studio and how a visit runs is on our about page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does lip blush look natural?

Yes. We choose soft, custom shades so your lips look naturally healthier and more defined, not overdone.

How much does lip blush cost in Boston?

Lip blush is $600 at our West Roxbury studio, for a session of 120 to 180 minutes. The perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks later is booked separately.

How long does lip blush take to heal?

The surface heals in about a week, with peeling between days three and six. The color drops back sharply around day seven and returns over the following two to three weeks.

I get cold sores. Can I still have lip blush?

Usually yes, but the procedure can trigger an outbreak, so speak to your doctor about antiviral medication beforehand and tell us at the consultation.

Does it hurt?

A topical numbing agent is applied for comfort. Most clients tolerate the treatment well.

Can lip blush correct dark or uneven lips?

In many cases, yes. Custom color neutralizing can help balance uneven tone. We assess this at your consultation.
